Welcome to the Online Home of the United African Community (UAC)! We are a charitable organization geared towards the development of inner-city communities in Kingston Jamaica. In 1990 a group of people from the Franklin Town shared the common belief that it was time to actively make a difference in their neighborhood; after much deliberation on how to execute their ideas the UAC was born.

Computer Literacy & Accessibility Program

OVERVIEW
The United African Community Group is proposing a 30 – Computer networked teaching classroom with server, presentation station, and laser printer to serve the needs of Computer literacy Programme. All students must pass through Writing and Communications classes, for students who are well prepared in communication skills especially writing. Student need to be using state-of the-the art writing and research tools in order to remain competitive on the job market and enter the workforce with up to date communication skills.
Currently, the existing computer Café on the premises of the United African Community Group is difficult if not impossible to reserve for writing classes. Constructing a computerized classroom for writing would make sense because it could also be used as a writing center and drop in lab outside of class hours. It would allow students easy access to writing as well as to increased community computing resources.
